Harry-Scott Sullivan:

This is Death by DVD, and you are listening to Harry Scott Sullivan, your host.

Linnea Quigley:

I'm Linnea, and I like Death by DVD. It's a statement.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

I got something to say on this episode. I have something to say. In fact, I got a couple of somethings to say, maybe. I don't know. You'll just have to listen to the whole episode and find out for yourself.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

Eloquence is unbound. What a fantastic introduction for the show. I got a couple of somethings to say whether you like it or not. And I have an inkling feeling it might not exactly be something that you want to hear, but this also will be one of those short episodes most people skip and don't listen to because they can assume by the short run time that I'm not talking about a movie, in which case you would be right, kinda, but for those of you that do take time to listen and choose death and hear this episode, you may find it interesting, but but it's silly of me to assume anything, so I won't. And with that, we can just get into what the couple of somethings I gotta say is or are.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

Is, are. It doesn't matter. Let's just start off with the big news, and I don't think you're gonna like it. Though the backbone of death by DVD is horror, exploitation, cult movies, spooky films, and it is spooky season. It's October 2024 at the time of the recording of this episode.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

I am very sorry to say that more than likely there will not be any new episodes of Death by DVD until November. It's very early to say, maybe even December of this year. Unfortunately, there may not be new episodes available at death by dvd.com until the New Year, January 2025. I don't have a firm time frame as to when episodes will return, and, of course, I do have a reason that I can explain to you as to why. Episodes will not be available for a couple months, maybe.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

As I just said, there is not, as of right now, a firm timeline on when the return of regular episodes will be. I will keep you posted on that. I, unfortunately, right now, can't talk too much about the subject matter. I really can't tell you anything, but I'm working on a movie.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

And when the movie's done, I'll be able to talk a lot more about it, of course, but this needs all of my time. I don't have time to record. I don't have time to edit. I know every Halloween since 2009, we have tried to give the best in October content. We tend to have multiple specials.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

We have special guests like the crypt sweeper, the neat freak cousin of the cryptkeeper. We tried to really celebrate the season on death by DVD, and this year, we're just gonna have to leave you high and dry, and I know that's that's a real pain in the butt. There will be all sorts of stuff available throughout the month, next month, all the way to the new year available on Patreon, but regular episodes. Deathbydvd.com, wherever you're listening to this. This is gonna be the last one for a while.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

There is a slight chance I don't wanna get your hopes up, but there is a slight chance that we'll put back out some of our older Halloween specials, maybe with some tweaks and some fun exciting new stuff. And as I said, I unfortunately cannot talk about the subject matter too deeply at all, but I'm working on a movie, and when I'm not working on the movie, I'll be back here in the graveyard for your listening displeasure. Right now is a wonderful time if you have not checked out our Patreon to go ahead and look it over. 7 day free trial on our dollar tier. In fact, we only have 2 tiers.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

One's a dollar and one's $4. It's $1 or $4 a month that you can support the future of Death by DVD and gain access to over 70 audio and video episodes available nowhere else, including Death by DVD Does Spookies, the Barbenheimer special. There's a new Alien Romulus episode, and a lot of stuff is coming soon as well as blogs, movie reviews. Everything that you could dream of is on Patreon, but while I am working on this film, your support would mean the world to me. Your support of Death by DVD is what keeps the show going.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

Every single cent that we earn on Patreon goes directly back into keeping the show's server open, our website open. It allows us to continue and soon I've been mentioning it all year. I've not gotten to it quite yet, but I'm in the midst of pricing it out and coming up with a name and figuring out what exactly you're going to be getting with this tier, but we will have an all new tier open and maybe a little bit more expensive than the previous 2, $1 $4, but there's a lot of options for you. $4 a month to support Death by DVD. Not asking you for the world, and it is completely up to you and your choice, but I would love to see you in the graveyard.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

We can shout 1 on 1 custom content for whatever you want. You just gotta tell me and over on Patreon you'll be able to find some updates for this movie I'm working on. I'll be able to talk a little bit more in-depth about things over there, but right now it's better for everything this way. It's better for everyone this way that it's big old secret. It's a surprise, and I can assure you that when everything is finished, if you are a regular listener here, if you are a fan of Death by DVD, you'll enjoy what I'm working on.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

But what I'm working on takes every single second of my time and all of my attention, and I am very sorrowful about not being able to provide anything during the highest horror season of the year, but we do have over 250 episodes available at deathbydvd.com. You can also go to our server website, listen to deathbydvd.transistor.fm, where every episode from 2019 to now is available for your listening displeasure. So that's the first thing. I know I said I got a couple of somethings to say, but I just wanna be thorough while discussing this because it's a big thing. I don't want you to think, oh, is is the show over? What happened? Is death by DVD gone? I don't want you to unsubscribe and run away because we'll be back. Of course, we're always back.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

It's been 15 years. We're not going anywhere. But I could truly use your support. So it would mean a great deal to me if you at least checked out our Patreon. You can do a 7 day free trial, and there's also a lot of free content as well if you want to join as a free member.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

We've got a little something for everybody there, and with that, we can move on to the next subject matter. We've got something really, really special, and I'd love to play it for you right now, but I'm gonna hold off. Who knows? It might be a Halloween treat. In fact, I think that is the best idea for this.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

Satanic Curse, a wonderful death metal band from Ohio. They HURSE, a wonderful death metal band from Ohio. They recorded a little bit of music for Death by DVD. It is an absolute treat and I'm very, very excited to play it for you, and what I can ask of you fine people out there to do for me, all of you out there in radioland, I'd love for you to find Satanic Hearse. Get on Facebook. Get on Instagram, Satanic Hearse Records. Like them. Follow them. Show these guys a little bit of support. It would also mean a lot to me.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

In fact, all the somethings I gotta say on this episode would mean a lot to me if you followed through with even one of them. I don't want to put the pressure on you or anything, but this just takes several seconds of your time. Check this band out. You're gonna be hearing them very soon on death by DVD. In fact, let's just go ahead and set the date. October 31st. A new wild and wonderful death by DVD theme from satanic curse. Find them. Follow them. Facebook, Instagram, satanic curse records.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

Give them some love from the graveyard gang, and I will make sure that we post everywhere on social media when you can hear it, when it will be available. And, of course, it will be on episodes following because there will be new episodes, just not this month, maybe not next month. But as a faithful Death by DVD listener, I assume that you follow us on Instagram, Twitter or X or whatever the fuck that thing is called. Facebook. Threads, we're on threads.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

You can also sign up for the Death by DVD newsletter on our website and we'll always keep you informed when new episodes are going to be arriving and what's coming out on Patreon. And my last something to say on this episode. I have something to say. Brings us to a subject matter that I hope you'll be familiar with because I've been talking about it for a few months on death by DVD pretty regularly. In fact, I think at least every episode I've tried to mention it, a little movie called Pater Noster and the Mission of Light.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

Right now, baby Pater Noster and the Mission of Light, you can see this film on October 18th 2024. It will be on night flight. That's right. Bader Noster and the Mission of Light is coming to night flight. But hey, you don't have to wait. You can see the movie right now. You can see it. You can watch it. You can find it. You can buy a digital copy of the film and enjoy it from the comfort of your very own home.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

There are multiple screenings worldwide. The film celebrated its release in Charlotte, North Carolina. In November, it will be in Georgia. In November, it will also be playing in Columbia, South Carolina. It's played in Italy. It's played in London. Pater Noster and the mission of light is taking over. So why don't you let the light into your life? And the write up for this episode will provide the link of where you can buy the movie digital or you can pre order the Blu ray. And of course, that is all over our social media. It's simple. It's easy. All you gotta do is type in paternostermovie.com. It will take you to the place you need to be to get yourself a copy of this film. Now I don't wanna harp. I don't wanna get on a pedestal here, but while I got a few minutes I might as well do it. You buy the digital copy. That's great. You are supporting an underground artist who works independently from any form of a studio system. You are helping them, but if you buy the digital copy and I know times are hard, not everybody has the money, but it would be great if you also pre ordered the Blu ray. Get yourself that physical copy. You're gonna want the physical copy because it's loaded with all sorts of special features. It's jam packed full. And you can get a bundle with all of Christopher Bickle's films on Blu ray, paternostermovie.com, and look let me add in something personal here. I know it's a bummer that we're not gonna have a Halloween special this year.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

I don't know if we're gonna have a Thanksgiving Christmas special anything. I'm really putting my nose to the grindstone and working as hard as I can because making a movie, working on a film, I want it to be the best that it can be. And I missed the premiere of Padernoster and the Mission of Light in Charlotte, North Carolina because I was working on this movie and that really sucked because if you've been listening to this show, if you've heard the interview that I have with Christopher Bickle, I'm passionate about that man's work. I'm passionate and I believe in their work. I believe in this movie. I want you to see it not just because I know the person. I want you to see it because it's good. It's you got to. Okay? Trust me.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

If you never trusted me before, if you never took a single fucking recommendation that I've given you on this show, make it this one. Vader Noster and the Mission of Light. I've never lied to you about a single thing. And that's the honest truth. When I come here and I sit behind this microphone, I got a lot of passion in some of the things that I have to say and you might not care for the movies.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

I got a lot of complaints about Shining anthropophagus up as much as I did, but I like Joe D'Amato. Some people don't, but this isn't a situation like Joe D'Amato, which is an acquired taste for sure. Christopher Bickle, I think horror fans worldwide should open up their arms for this artist. We are lucky that Christopher Bickle decided to share his art with us. I think he has a tremendous talent, a beautiful talent, a pure raw talent and he decided to share that with us in the form of filmmaking and we are all lucky for that.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

Bad Girls, the Theta Girl, and now Peter Noster and the Mission of Light. Do yourself a favor of the spooky season. Death is always near and I'm just a message away on any of our social media. We will be back with new episodes, but treat yourself. Check out a digital copy.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

Get yourself a copy of the Blu ray. There's a lot more that you can dig into. It's worth your time. It it is so worth your time. So we might not be here, but you can really enjoy this film. Take it as a gift from us. Hey. You heard about it here. Come on. Death by DVD, it's the gift that keeps on giving. Right? So don't give up hope. Keep your eyes and your ears open. Be sure to continue checking deathbydvd.com throughout the month of October. Who knows, we might have some blast from the past Halloween specials from the time of your restored for your listening displeasure deathbydvd.com or wherever you get podcasts at. Or everywhere you just gotta search for us, just like Elvis. Alright. So let me let me just do a whole count to make sure we covered everything. Working on a movie. Gonna have to take a brief hiatus from new episodes.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

Got a new theme song coming out though from Satanic Curse. Find them. Follow them. Facebook, Instagram, social media. Check it out, Satanic Curse Records, and then Pater Noster and the Mission of Light. Let the light into your life, baby.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

That's it. Alright. Yeah. That's it, man.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

I love you all. I just cannot express how much your support means to me listening to this, being a fan, a follower, a friend of Death by DVD. If you join me in the graveyard, if you're a part of our Patreon already, you know how special you are to me. I try to, every post, let you know how much you mean to me, and if you would like to support what I am working on in the long run of things, joining our Patreon is the easiest way to do that. $4 a month, some $40 odd a year, choose death.

Harry-Scott Sullivan:

I hope to see you in the graveyard, And with that, we've reached the end of the episode. The ashtray is full and the bottle is empty. We'll be back. We always come back. You can't keep a cool ghoul down, and don't think I'd let my favorite holiday slip by without me at least coming back to tell you happy Halloween, October 31, 2024. We will be playing you some new music from satanichearse recorded especially for Death by DVD. Until then, pleasant tomorrows.
